About the guide

Donkey Vote provides general election information and plain-English summaries of published material. It is not the Victorian Electoral Commission, an electoral authority, a political party or a candidate.

The current guide focuses on the 2026 Victorian state election. It is not a complete record of every party, candidate, announcement or policy.

Sources and accuracy

We take reasonable care to link claims to sources, distinguish party statements from independent evidence and show gaps or review status where practical. Policies, websites and voting instructions can change after we check them.

Always read the linked source and check its date. For enrolment, ballot instructions, deadlines and voting arrangements, follow the current information from the Victorian Electoral Commission.

If you find an error or a newer primary source, please tell us so we can review it.

Your decisions

The site does not provide legal, financial or professional advice. It does not tell you how to vote. You remain responsible for checking information and making your own decision.

To the extent permitted by law, Donkey Vote is not responsible for loss arising from reliance on incomplete, outdated or incorrectly interpreted information on this site.

Independence

Including or summarising a party, candidate, policy or source is not an endorsement. Missing coverage is not a criticism, score or statement that a party has no position.

Comparisons are built from the issues and parties a visitor chooses. Donkey Vote does not calculate a party match, ranking or voting recommendation.

External links

Links are provided so you can inspect original and supporting material. We do not control external websites and cannot guarantee that they remain available, secure or unchanged. Their own terms and privacy practices apply when you visit them.

Fair use of the site

You may use and share links to the guide for lawful purposes. Do not misuse the site, interfere with its operation, attempt unauthorised access or present Donkey Vote content in a way that falsely suggests endorsement.

We may correct, update, remove or reorganise content and may update these terms. For questions about these terms, use the contact form.
